The New York Times and other outlets are reporting that Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), the Senate minority leader, and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the House minority leader, have reached an agreement with President Trump to codify DACA into law. The deal reportedly does not include money for the border wall.
From their joint statement:
“We had a very productive meeting at the White House with the president,” the statement said. “The discussion focused on DACA. We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides.”
Big WIN for Democrats tonight!
